HC Deb 28 January 1942 vol 377 c721
65. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply whether he has any evidence to show that information on common problems is withheld at meetings of technical men who assemble together to consider how to improve war products and output; and is he satisfied that there is a pooling of production methods?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

The evidence at the disposal of the Ministry of Supply shows that information on common problems of production is rarely withheld at meetings of technical experts. There is a noteworthy degree of exchange of information regarding production methods. It must not be forgotten that the Ministry has legal powers to compel disclosure when necessary.
