HC Deb 28 January 1942 vol 377 cc722-3
67. Mr. Graham White

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply whether instructions have now been given to all workers and contractors employed by the Ministry of Supply with regard to the salvage of paper and packing materials?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

Instructions with regard to the salvage of paper and packing materials have from time to time been given to the staff in all departments of the Ministry of Supply, and to the Royal Ordnance Factories. Recommendations on the same subject were issued through the Federation of British Industries to all their members in April, 1940, and again this month; and contractors are aware of the appeals for the salvage of waste paper, which have for a considerable time been given extensive publicity.
