1. Mr. McNeilasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is now in a position to make a statement on the possibility of reimbursing Scottish jurors who, in giving service, lose wages and salaries and incur out-of-pocket expenses?
§ The Secretary of State for Scotland (Mr. T. Johnston)I regret that in present circumstances time cannot be found for the legislation which would be required to give statutory authority for the proposals in the hon. Member's Question. I propose, however, to take administrative action designed to avoid the citation of persons to attend for jury service at long distances from their homes.
