§ 77. Mr. Lawsonasked the Home Secretary whether he is Aware that the application for a dog track at Birtley, County Durham, has been authorised by the Betting and Lotteries Committee of the county council; that this dog track will be situated on the main North Road, where transport is a great problem even in normal times; that every responsible person, including workmen's leaders, are deeply concerned about this decision from the production point of view; that a large number of residents have petitioned against the track; and whether he will take steps to make this decision null and void?
§ Mr. H. MorrisonI am in entire agreement with the general principle that in present circumstances it is wrong that 425 materials or labour should be used for the construction of a new dog track. As regards the particular case to which my hon. Friend refers, I am having inquiry made and will communicate with him as soon as possible.
