HC Deb 21 January 1942 vol 377 cc341-2
34. Captain Gammans

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is prepared to reconsider his decision not to publish periodical returns of the destruction of U-boats by the British Navy, in view of the fact that the American Navy is publishing returns of its successes against U-boats?

Mr. Alexander

No, Sir. The Admiralty occasionally publishes accounts of particular successes against U-boats and will continue to do so on suitable occasions. This, so far as I am aware, is the practice of the United States Naval Authorities.
