HC Deb 21 January 1942 vol 377 c333
18. Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that flight-sergeants who have been on active operations have recently been subjected to all kinds of annoyances, such as quibbling over beds, and other petty offences resulting in defaulters' parades; and whether he will issue instructions that all the out-of-date ideas of maintaining discipline must be eliminated, and that flight-sergeants shall be given the same status as other commissioned ranks?

Sir A. Sinclair

I am not aware of any such incidents; but if the hon. Member will let me have particulars, I will have inquiries made.
