asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can make a statement on the co-operation between the British Colonial and American authorities in economic research and welfare in the Carribean Colonies; and whether seeing Canada's close association with these Colonies, that Dominion is sharing in the co-operation?

It is not yet possible to make any statement on this subject, although I hope that this may be possible in the near future.

Is it possible to give an answer to the second part of my Question? Is Canada being invited to take part in these discussions?

I prefer not to reply until the negotiations now proceeding are complete.

Are negotiations going on at the present time with regard to this matter?
