HC Deb 08 January 1942 vol 377 c3
8. Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Minister of Labour, whether he intends to implement the recommendation of the Select Committee on National Expenditure that the medical records of approved societies shall be made available to medical boards when examining recruits for the Forces; and, if so, whether he will consult with the appropriate Departments so as to ensure that this shall be the practice even in peace time?

Mr. Bevin

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to his Question on this matter on 7th August last, to which I have nothing to add.

Mr. Davies

Does my right hon. Friend remember that he told me he would not do this? Now that the Select Committee on National Expenditure have recommended it, will he reconsider the matter?

Mr. Bevin

A report on this matter, in the terms of the reply given on 7th August, has been sent to the Select Committee on National Expenditure, and it will be for them to consider whether they will publish the reply.
