asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether an opportunity will now be granted for Ethiopia to sign the Pact of 26 States against the Axis?

Mr. Eden

My hon. Friend will be aware from the reply which my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs gave to him on 20th January, that the Declaration of the United Nations is open to adherence by other nations which are or which may be rendering material assistance and contributions in the struggle for victory over Hitlerism.

Will the right hon. Gentleman see that his answer is conveyed to the Emperor?

Mr. Eden

I think the Emperor is aware of it.
