HC Deb 25 February 1942 vol 378 cc216-30
The Lord Privy Seal (Sir Stafford Cripps)

I beg to move, That the Proceedings on any Motion for the Adjournment of the House that may be moved by a Minister of the Crown at this day's Sitting be exempted from the provisions of the Standing Orders (Sittings of the House). Perhaps I might say a word in explanation. I am anxious that there should be no curtailment of the Debate to-day, and that there should be a full opportunity for everyone who wishes to speak; but no doubt it will be remembered that yesterday we sat for several hours after the usual time of Adjournment, and I hope that hon. Members will not wish unduly to prolong the Debate to-day. I hope myself to catch your eye, Sir, at a certain hour.

Question put, and agreed to.
