HC Deb 05 February 1942 vol 377 c1252
9. Mr. Graham White

asked the Secretary of State for India whether there is still a demand for technical instructors in industrial training centres in India; and whether he will investigate the possible availability and suitability of some of the instructors to be set free by the concentration of Government training centres in this country, for this service in India?

The Secretary of State for India (Mr. Amery)

I am awaiting information from the Government of India, of whom I have inquired as to the present position of the matter covered by the fist part of the Question; in the meantime I can give an assurance that my right honourable Friend the Minister of Labour and I are in the closest touch to secure that India's needs in skilled personnel are supplied to the fullest extent compatible with the urgent demands upon such personnel in this country.
