HC Deb 16 December 1942 vol 385 cc1904-5
24. Mr. John Wilmot

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Planning when it is expected that the Report upon the Town Planning of Greater London, upon which Professor Abercrombie is engaged for his Department, will be completed and available?

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Planning (Mr. Henry Strauss)

My Noble Friend expects to receive the Report by September, 1943.

Mr. Wilmot

Is it the intention of the Government to make observance of this plan obligatory upon local authorities?

Mr. Strauss

I would rather not deal with such questions before my Noble Friend has received the Report. The first thing when the Report has been received will be to communicate it to the authorities concerned.
