HC Deb 16 December 1942 vol 385 c1902
22. Mr. Arthur Duckworth

asked the Minister of Aircraft Production whether he can give an assurance that the Fleet Air Arm is now being given priority equal to the Royal Air Force in the provision of the most modern fighter aircraft?

Sir S. Cripps

Yes, Sir. I am in constant consultation with my right hon. Friend the First Lord of the Admiralty on this matter, and he is, I understand, in agreement with the action taken by my Department.

23. Mr. Duckworth

asked the Minister of Aircraft Production whether he can make any statement with regard to the re-equipment of the Fleet Air Arm with the most modern type of fighter and torpedo-carrying aircraft?

Sir S. Cripps

While there has been a number of difficulties with the types referred to by my hon. Friend, I have every reason to hope that these have been overcome and that the re-equipment of the Fleet Air Arm will now proceed satisfactorily.
