HC Deb 10 December 1942 vol 385 c1680
15. Sir Leonard Lyle

asked the Minister of Health whether, in considering the claim of the medical insurance practitioners for an adequate capitation fee, he has taken or will take into consideration the extra work thrown on them by the extension of the panel scheme to black-coated workers and the diminution of their private practices owing to the claims imposed on them by the war effort?

The Minister of Health (Mr. Ernest Brown)

Yes, Sir; all relevant facts have been taken into consideration.

Sir L. Lyle

Does my right hon. Friend not think that the medical profession have had a very raw deal, in view of the fact that their better-paying patients have diminished in number and their poorer-paying patients have increased? If they had been a bigger body, would they not have had more chance?
