Mr. David Adamsasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the number of, and respective, offences committed by convicted workers against the Sierra Leone Defence (Essential Work) (General Provisions) Order of 1942, with the respective 1541 fines and imprisonment; the normal weekly hours worked and rates of wages paid; and, as many workers having long distances to travel to and from their homes spend their lives almost wholly in travel, work and sleep, whether provision will be made for occasional time off for such workers to rest?
