HC Deb 03 December 1942 vol 385 c1277
9. Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Minister of Health whether he has now completed his inquiry into the decision of the General Nursing Council to prevent persons from sitting for examinations under the auspices of the Council without giving any reason for refusal; and with what result?

The Minister of Health (Mr. Ernest Brown)

I regret I have not yet received the observations of the General Nursing Council on the matter to which my hon. Friend refers.

Mr. Davies

In view of the fact that I asked this Question many weeks ago, and especially in view of the effect of this decision upon girls who want to enter nursing, when does the right hon. Gentleman think he will be able to complete his inquiries and reverse this decision?

Mr. Brown

I hope to get the observations of the General Nursing Council soon, but I do not control that.
