HC Deb 01 December 1942 vol 385 cc1008-9
71. Major Markham

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether consideration has been given to the cultivation of long and wide stretches verging the Fenny Stratford-Towcester road which were taken over for road-widening years ago but are now unused?

Mr. Pym (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. Yes, Sir, but there are technical and practical consi derations which militate against the cultivation of the roadside verges to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers. My right hon. Friend is sending him detailed information.
