HC Deb 05 August 1942 vol 382 cc1010-1
14. Captain Gammans

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether any decision has yet been reached which will permit men in the Royal Air Force who have come from a Crown Colony to bear a shoulder-flash of the name of their Colony and thus follow the same practice as is accorded to men from the Dominions and the United States of America?

Captain Balfour

As I informed my hon. and gallant Friend on 17th June, the question of the extension of the privilege of wearing distinguishing shoulder badges involves administrative and other difficulties on which it has been necessary to consult other Departments and authorities concerned. These consultations are nearing completion, and I hope that a decision will not now be long delayed.
