HC Deb 05 August 1942 vol 382 cc1018-9
20. Sir Robert Young

asked the Minister of Aircraft Production whether he has considered a letter from Mr. B. Vallance, of Golborne, Lancashire, regarding aeroplane construction; and whether he will give an assurance that the suggestions made will receive careful attention from himself and from the Department of Scientific Research without undue delay, owing to the urgency of the matter, If approved?

Colonel Llewellin

Yes, Sir. This matter has been carefully considered by my Department, and a reply was sent to Mr. Vallance last week.

Sir R. Young

Does that reply give any explanation of whether the suggestion was or was not suitable?

Colonel Llewellin

No, Sir. I have seen the reply and have read the claim put forward by Mr. Vallance. What Mr. Vallance is suggesting is not a new thing; I have seen it in operation, and I am afraid that Mr. Vallance does not add anything to what we already know.
