HC Deb 05 August 1942 vol 382 cc1006-7
6. Mr. Dugdale

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether transport officers have now been appointed at all aerodromes in the country; and whether, as a result of such appointments, there has been any saving in the consumption of petrol for non-flying purposes?

Captain Balfour

Personnel have been specially appointed at all R.A.F. stations to supervise the use of mechanical transport and to see that the regulations enjoining economy in petrol consumption are duly observed. I am advised that these appointments are achieving their object.
