§ 4. Mr. Manderasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can inform the House of the progress being made in the negotiations between representatives of Poland and Czechoslovakia; and whether he is using his good offices in promoting an agreement?
§ Mr. EdenI have no statement to make on a matter which is the primary concern of the two Allied Governments, but my hon. Friend will recall that His Majesty's 161 Government welcomed the Polish-Czechoslovak declaration of November last concerning the future policy which the two Governments intended to pursue.
§ Mr. ManderWhile appreciating what my right hon. Friend has said, may I ask whether he is keeping in friendly contact with the two parties on this subject and doing everything that he feels he can?
§ Mr. EdenNaturally, my good offices are always available, but I think we must allow the two Governments to speak for themselves.
§ Mr. George GriffithsHear, hear. There are too many "Nosey Parkers."
