§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education (Mr. Ede)The latest figures obtained from local education authorities were in respect of the week ended 12th July, 1941. They showed that 28,306 children of public elementary school age were not receiving instruction and 72,505 were receiving part-time instruction. These figures represent 0.6 per cent, and 1.6 per cent, respectively of the total number of children of school age.
