§ 15. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that in many cases the clothing issued to members of the Royal Observer Corps is over two years old; and whether he has made direct inquiries to see whether there are legitimate grievances in the matter of suitable clothing?
§ Sir A. SinclairThe clothing issued to members of the Royal Observer Corps is replaced on demand if it becomes unserviceable owing to age or for other reasons. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the Reply which I gave him on 15th October.
§ Mr. SorensenHas not the right hon. Gentleman received the information which I sent him regarding some of the complaints that have been sent to me? Is it not true that warm clothing has not been issued to many of these men since the early part of the war?
§ Sir A. SinclairI understand that warm clothing is available at all the posts. If the hon. Member is still not satisfied, I will look into the matter again.
§ Mr. WedgwoodIs not warm clothing available for only a certain number and is handed from one man to another when they go on watch?.
§ Sir A. SinclairThat is the best we can do at the present.
