HC Deb 22 October 1941 vol 374 c1775
39. Major Lyons

asked the Secretary of State for India whether Army and Air Force training schools for fitters for practical work in the field have been established in India; and whether he is satisfied that a long-term view has been taken; that the numbers under training are adequate; and that the instructional staff is sufficient and competent?

The Secretary of State for India (Mr. Amery)

I have asked for a report on the subject from the Government of India. I know that such schools have been established and I am confident that both the Commander-in-Chief and the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief in India have taken a long view and are making the fullest use of the resources available.
