HC Deb 21 October 1941 vol 374 cc1604-5
22. Mr. Bellenger

asked the Secretary of State for War whether any review has been made of officers holding administrative posts who are under the age of 35 years, and of a high medical category; and if so, with what result?

Captain Margesson

The qualifications of holders of administrative posts are constantly under review, and, so far as possible, officers under 35 years of age and of a high medical category are not employed on administrative duties except in field force formations. My hon. Friend will, however, appreciate that young officers must receive some training in administrative staff duties, in order to enable them to fill the more senior posts in due course.
