HC Deb 08 October 1941 vol 374 c1011
Mr. Mathers (Linlithgow)

Mr. Speaker, I thank you for the opportunity you afford me of making a personal statement. During the Adjournment Debate yesterday I made rather extended references to a deputation which, although held for the purpose of obtaining information for people outside, was, in fact, a private deputation. You have made it clear to me that in making those references I erred against the usages of this House. The only reparation I can make, Mr. Speaker, is to express my profound regret to you, to the House, and to the Minister, and this I unreservedly do.
