HC Deb 07 October 1941 vol 374 c821
21. Mr. McKinlay

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that Miss Susan Train, 12, Townholm, Kilmarnock, was knocked through the parapet of a bridge on the 17th of July last by a service lorry driven by a corporal of the Army Service Corps, receiving injuries from which she died the next day; that to date her parents have not even received an expression of regret for the occurrence; and will he consider the question of the War Office paying at least the funeral expenses?

Captain Margesson

The necessary investigations into this case have only just been completed, and a representative of Scottish Command is having an interview with Miss Train's parents this week, at which the whole matter will be discussed.
