HC Deb 02 October 1941 vol 374 cc725-6
90. Mr. Douglas

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food, whether his attention has been called to recent prosecutions of vendors of food substitutes; and whether he will consider the imposition upon vendors of such substitutes of an obligation to disclose on each packet sold the precise nature and composition of the article?

Major Lloyd George

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes, Sir." With regard to the second part, my Noble Friend is now considering the action which can best be taken to protect the public in respect of the manufacture and sale of "food substitutes."
