§ 8. Sir Smedley Crookeasked the Minister of Labour whether the interim scheme for training disabled persons, which is now open to all irrespective of cause of disablement, is applicable to 1914-18 war disability pensioners; and will he take special action to ensure that severely-disabled men in this group, who fell out of the labour market owing to pre-war lack of opportunities of suitable training and employment, are now given every chance to re-establish themselves as useful citizens?
§ Mr. AsshetonThe answer to the first part of the Question is in the affirmative. In regard to the second part, everything possible is being and will be done to assist men disabled from the 1914-18 war to get useful employment either direct or through a suitable course of vocational training.
