HC Deb 26 November 1941 vol 376 cc748-9
49. Mr. Woods

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his attention has been drawn to complaints that supplies of rabbits now go very largely to the larger urban areas, where an additional charge of 2d. per lb. may be made; and whether the Rabbits (Control and Maximum Prices) Order is to be amended to provide an all-round price for rabbits?

Major Lloyd George

My attention has been drawn to the fact that, as was the intention, the additional charge of 2d. per lb. which may be made on the sale of rabbits in certain specified areas, is in- ducing supplies into those towns which had previously experienced a shortage. The amendment of the Rabbits (Control and Maximum Prices) Order to provide for one price to be applicable throughout the country is not contemplated.
