HC Deb 20 November 1941 vol 376 c427
2. Rear-Admiral Beamish

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can now hold out hopes for the provision of some assistance towards travelling facilities for workers transferred to great distances from their homes?

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour (Mr. Tomlinson)

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply given on 23rd October to the hon. Member for Llanelly (Mr. J. Griffiths) to which I am not in a position to add.

Rear-Admiral Beamish

Is it within my hon. Friend's recollection that the Minister of Labour made a promise that he was looking into this matter, and will he remind the Minister that he made that promise in this House?

Mr. Tomlinson

I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that the matter is still being looked into. It is full of difficulties, but it is constantly under review.
