HC Deb 19 November 1941 vol 376 cc287-8
24. Wing-Commander James

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether, having regard to the fact that members of the Home Guard are issued with overcoats, he will arrange for an adequate supply of warm clothing to be issued to members of the Observer Corps who put in a certain minimum of time in manning posts?

Sir A. Sinclair

A personal issue of a waterproof, fleece-lined storm coat is being made to every observer and will be completed shortly. In the meantime, as I informed the hon. Member for West Leyton (Mr. Sorensen) on 22nd October, an adequate supply of warm clothing is available at all the posts for men on duty.
