HC Deb 19 November 1941 vol 376 c293
39. Sir Waldron Smithers

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, in view of his record in the last war, Mr. Constantinesco, the inventor of the acoustic mine in that war, is now being provided with sufficient money and with facilities to pursue his work?

Sir V. Warrender

I am aware of no ground upon which Mr. Constantinesco might claim to have invented the acoustic mine in the last war, or that British mining technique owes anything to work done by him. He is not being provided with money or facilities for investigations on acoustic mines.
