§ The Prime MinisterThe General Debate on the Address will be continued on the next three Sitting Days. If it is found to be the general desire, subject to Mr. Speaker's approval, to deal with any specific subject on any day, a further statement will be made on the next Sitting Day.
§ Mr. Pethick-LawrenceWith regard to the second part of what the Prime Minister has said, the right hon. Gentleman will, no doubt, realise that there is a general desire to discuss among such matters the question of allowances to Service dependants, and sometime later on we would like to raise that question.
§ The Prime MinisterThe right hon. Gentleman means in the Debate on the Address?
§ Mr. Pethick-LawrenceYes, Sir.
§ The Prime MinisterI think that that is a matter for consultation because it would be inconvenient if the Debate sprawled all over the whole of the field when Members wished particularly to deal with some special aspect. Perhaps that will be satisfied by discussion through the usual channels.
§ Mr. Pethick-LawrenceI quite appreciate what the Prime Minister has said, but I mentioned only one of the questions.
