HC Deb 29 May 1941 vol 371 c1967
1. Mr. Batey

asked the Minister of Labour why strong, healthy men who are 65 years of age are prevented from working in a Government factory by the Ministry of Labour on account of their age?

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Ernest Bevin)

I am not aware of any such action, which would be entirely contrary to the policy and practice of my Department. I shall be glad if my hon. Friend will give me particulars of the case he has in mind.
