HC Deb 22 May 1941 vol 371 c1553
Mr. Speaker

I have to-day received a letter from the Chairman of the Press Gallery, enclosing a copy of a message to this House from members of the Press Gallery that I should like to read to the House: The Parliamentary Press Gallery desire to offer their sympathy with the House of Commons in the loss it has suffered by the destruction of its historic Chamber, for nearly a century associated with the principles of free speech and a free Press. Members of the Press Gallery, sharing as they do in this loss, feel confident that the great traditions which the House of Commons enshrines are beyond the power of any enemy to destroy. (Signed) ARTHUR BAKER (Chairman).

Mr. Thorne

Will that letter be entered in the Journals of the House?

Mr. Speaker

Yes.
