HC Deb 15 May 1941 vol 371 cc1252-3
44. Mr. Neil Maclean

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Ever Ready Company (Great Britain), Limited, came to an agreement with two other companies dealing in flash-lamp batteries, part of which was to supply firms which were wholesale factors dealing with those two firms; that the company now refuses to recognise those wholesale factors, only supplying them with flash-lamp batteries at the price charged to retail shops; and whether he will take steps to insist on this firm recognising those wholesale factors, and thereby prevent firms which have been in existence for over 30 years being put out of business?

Captain Waterhouse

I was not aware of the transactions to which the hon. Member refers, but if he will send me further particulars, I will look into the matter.
