asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether consideration will be given to the advisability of allowing shop assistants employed in the food trades to be members of the local food control committees, where their practical experience would be of value?

Of the 15 members of a food control committee five are known as trade members. Shop assistants as well as employers are eligible for any of these five appointments.
