HC Deb 06 May 1941 vol 371 c676
7. Major-General Sir Alfred Knox

asked the Secretary of State for War what proposals regarding the exchange of prisoners of war have been made by the protecting Power and what reply has been given; and whether negotiations have been undertaken with the German Government?

Captain Margesson

If my hon. and gallant Friend has in mind an exchange of prisoners of war other than those who are entitled to repatriation on medical grounds under the terms of the Prisoners of War Convention of 1929, no proposals have been made by the protecting Power on either side and no negotiations have been undertaken with the German Government. As regards those who are entitled to repatriation on medical grounds, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the Answer given by my right hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Cambridge (Lieut.-Commander Tufnell) on 10th April.
