HC Deb 27 March 1941 vol 370 c697
45. Mr. Mander

asked the Prime Minister whether, in the problems of reconstruction now being considered by the Government, attention is being devoted to the necessity for the re-education of the German people, in order to remove from their minds the Nazi doctrines of hatred and brutality which have been impressed upon them, and to substitute an attitude of international goodwill, humanity and co-operation?

The Lord Privy Seal (Mr. Attlee)

The hon. Member may rest assured that this and all relevant problems will be considered at the right time.

Mr. Mander

Will my right hon. Friend bear in mind that this process will have to be very thorough and last for a long period?

Captain McEwen

In view of the fact that this process is likely to last for at least 100 years, will the Government guarantee peace for that period?
