HC Deb 19 March 1941 vol 370 c142
14. Lieut.-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore

asked the Minister of Transport to what extent "Help Your Neighbour" petrol is available for motorists who can only give casual lifts as opposed to regular assistance to definite persons; and whether he will arrange that potential passengers for cars using such petrol shall congregate at specified places on the recognised routes out of London, so that they can be quickly picked up by motorists?

The Minister of Transport (Lieut.-Colonel Moore-Brabazon)

The "Help-Your-Neighbour" scheme does not apply to casual lifts. The second part of the Question does not therefore arise.
