HC Deb 18 March 1941 vol 370 cc12-3
26. Mr. Kennedy

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he can now indicate the result of the meeting between the coalowners of Scotland and the National Union of Scottish Mineworkers for the adoption of a policy of 100 per cent. organisation in Scotland?

Mr. Grenfell

This matter is still under discussion, and I am going to Glasgow to-morrow to attend a further meeting of the parties, at which it is hoped that it may be found possible to arrive at a reasonable settlement.
