HC Deb 13 March 1941 vol 369 c1396
6. Dr. Little

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will make arrangements for many more Northern Ireland men to be admitted to Government training centres in Great Britain with a view to their better equipment for various kinds of war work?

Mr. Bevin

The number of places open to Northern Ireland men in Government training centres in Great Britain was largely increased last December, and is now fully sufficient to accommodate the men coming forward for training.

Dr. Little

As the matter is urgent, will my right hon. Friend look into this matter again, as we have lots of capable men in Ulster ready for training, and I hope that he will give them a chance of becoming more efficient in war work?
