HC Deb 11 March 1941 vol 369 cc1143-4
29. Sir F. Sanderson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of the hardship caused to working-class parents with large families who have to pay for repairs to their children's gas-masks, due to damage caused by the deterioration of the rubber, which cannot be the parent's responsibility; and, as small children can not be expected to exercise the same care as an adult, will he take steps to pay this charge?

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Home Security (Mr. Mabane)

My right hon. Friend already has under review the present arrangements for the repair or replacement of children's respirators and will bear in mind the considerations referred to by my hon. Friend.
