HC Deb 05 March 1941 vol 369 c890
2. Mr. Cocks

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make regarding the presence of German troops at Casablanca in French Morocco?

Mr. Butler

A representative of the German Armistice Commission has been at Casablanca for some months. Early in February a considerable number of German officers, non-commissioned officers and men are reported to have arrived there in uniform and bearing arms. Estimates of their number vary. The Commission is said to include technicians of various kinds.

Mr. Cocks

I thank the right hon. Gentleman for his answer, and I will not ask what the Government propose to do about it.
