§ 48. Major Milnerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, having regard to the 768 inclusion of the name of the right hon. Member for Kelvingrove (Mr. Elliot) in Command Paper 6255, in what respect the employment of the right hon. Gentleman differs from that of other hon. Members serving with the Forces?
§ Sir K. WoodAs was announced by the Secretary of State for War on 11th February, the appointment of my right hon. Friend the Member for Kelvingrove (Mr. Elliot) as Public Relations Officer of the War Office is a military one, and he is receiving the pay and allowances of a colonel serving at the War Office. The inclusion of my right hon. Friend's name in Part II as well as in Part I of the White Paper was, I am afraid, misleading, and I am grateful for the opportunity of clearing up any misunderstanding which may have been caused.
