HC Deb 24 June 1941 vol 372 cc947-8
42. Mr. Craik Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has given authority for the provision of proper accommodation with adequate ventilation for report and control centres and for the provision of beds or bunks for personnel engaged on night work and who are allowed to rest except during warnings of danger; and what steps he is taking to ensure that local authorities act in accordance with his directions in this matter?

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Home Security (Mr. Mabane)

Authority exists for all these types of provision, and it is the desire of my right hon. Friend that local authorities should make full provision in these matters. Regional officers of the Department and the Inspector-General and his staff have the position under constant attention. If my hon. Friend has any particular case in mind and will let me have details of it, I shall be happy to look into the matter.
