HC Deb 11 June 1941 vol 372 c198
65. Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Minister of Supply, in view of the great labour effort in the United States of America, whether any war munitions factories in this country are working a 24-hour day?

Sir A. Duncan

Yes, Sir. Numerous factories here are working either 24 hours a day on a three-shift basis or 20 hours or more a day on two long shifts.
