HC Deb 30 July 1941 vol 373 cc1390-1
32. Mr. Pethick-Lawrence

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings whether his attention has been drawn to the inadequacy of the lighting in the Chamber in which the recent Sittings of the Commons have been held; and whether he proposes to have it improved?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings (Mr. Hicks)

The answer to the first part of the Question is in the negative. In regard to the second part, I am quite prepared to have the lighting improved if hon. Members generally consider that the present arrangements are inadequate.
