HC Deb 29 July 1941 vol 373 c1232
15. Mr. Hannah

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is satisfied with the state of our export trade, especially in view of markets after the war?

Mr. Johnstone

My right hon. Friend is never satisfied with the state of our export trade, and he is very conscious that war conditions make it impossible to cultivate our overseas markets as much as we should wish. But my hon. Friend can be assured that the considerations he mentions are being kept in mind.

Mr. Hannah

Does the Government realise the supreme, enormous, colossal and overwhelming need of looking after our export trade, especially when peace is restored?
